on tour: CAKE and Ben Folds
Posted by Amy Steele in Music on April 4, 2018
It’s a great year for GenX with so many fantastic artists and bands touring in 2018 . In August (my birthday month), CAKE and Ben Folds hit the road together for what seems like a solidly fun double bill. The tour kicks off in Boston at Blue Hills Bank Pavilion, the best summer venue.
CAKE’s Vincent DiFiore said: “Ben Folds has been a friend to us, a tour partner in the past, and for a long time we have had great respect for him. CAKE is looking forward to expressing our identity through music this summer, and the chemistry of our evening together with Ben and his band will be an inspiring jolt for us and the audience.”
Ben Folds said: “CAKE — my rough contemporaries, comrades and heroes — to me, they make universal, poetic, identifiable music with a groove. I’ve learned a lot from these guys and I’m proud as punch to be on tour with them this summer.”
