Dana Falconberry: music review
Posted by Amy Steele in Music on November 11, 2012
from: Austin, Texas
sound:
folk-pop. Uniquely crafted songs. Dulcet fairy-like vocals, interesting vocal pauses and arrangements– including an orchestra and Falconberry’s six-piece backing band– give the songs a layered depth. Reminds me of Au Revoir Simone—soothing, melodic and reflective. This album, Leelanau, is inspired by the years Falconberry spent in Michigan and the Midwest before relocating to Austin.
album: Leelanau
label: Antenna Farm Records
my picks:
“Lake Charlievoix”
“Petosky Stone”
“Maple Leaf Red”
