According to the press release the young members of The Postelles “were all reared on 50s and early 60s rock and roll – Buddy Holly, Sam Cooke.” You can tell with the soda-shop beats combined with crooning vocals especially on the particularly catchy “Boys Best Friend.” Growing up in Manhattan, the twenty-something band members additionally found inspiration from The Strokes and other guitar-driven bands. The Postelles create memorable, retro-inspired compositions and melodies “Sleep on the Dance Floor” has a bit of a darker sound with dirtier guitar licks. There are clever lyrics such as “misery likes company when company’s a drink” on “Hey Little Sister.” Finesse and edgy guitar makes for captivating and layered rock songs. The Postelles are sure to be quite fun live and are currently on tour.
