Sing in My Meadow resonates with a psychedelic/ bluesy edge which differentiates it from earlier Cowboy Junkies releases [such as my favorite At the End of Paths Taken]. It’s looser, a bit wilder, and louder. Haunting, dark vocals become surrounded by rhythms that clatter and crash in orderly recklessness. Mood music for sure. You’ll have to decide what fits. This is the third release of the band’s “The Nomad Series.” The others are Renmin Park and Demons .
Picks: “Continental Drift,” “Late Night Radio,” “Hunted”
